The evolution of the Corona, Covid-19 pandemic has exposed the digital scenario of rural areas like never before. The early days of the pandemic were quite difficult for people residing in and around the rural areas. Broadband for rural areas was not up to the mark. Lack of proper digital facilities created a severe level of difficulties among those staying within the rural boundaries.

But the question that remains: is the scenario improving?
While it has been long since the first wave of pandemics hit the world, things have changed for the better. People have become more responsible and services are becoming better available in rural areas. Broadband services have improved rapidly in the last six months. The change started to take place last year itself. However, implementing a proper infrastructure for the services to be stagnant and stable requires time. With such humongous demand for broadband users, it took a few months to have the setup. And then, with some major adjustments, things have finally being streamlined. Be it students, workers, teachers, or employers, the availability of stable satellite broadband services have made things look a lot brighter than ever.
The tag, “rural areas are suffering from the lack of poor broadband services” is not true presently. Earlier, lack of proper broadband facility, poor speed of internet, and absence of fibre optic lines were the major cause of dismay. However, things have improved of late. Fibre optics are being installed in most of the rural zones, resulting in high-speed uninterrupted internet connectivity. Most of the internet service providers are investing in rural areas for setting up broadband connections. Efforts are shown at the best of levels to ensure better broadband and digital internet facilities to subscribers residing in these areas.
Schools and colleges are operating via the digital platform. Online classes are being carried out and hence, uninterrupted broadband facilities are essentially required. The introduction of optical fibre has ensured high-speed internet to the interiors of the rural localities.
Connectivity is getting better. Digital transformation is happening. The pandemic has taught us to become sincere towards our approaches. It has allowed us to become united and work for the betterment of society. Work towards a greater cause and the benefits will be enjoyed by society. Broadband services available in rural areas has helped increase the list of subscribers for top broadband service providers.
Shopping, education, banking, payment of bills, and many more services are handled through the digital medium. The availability of stable internet connectivity makes it easier for people of rural areas to access these facilities and remain connected to other parts of the world. Video calling through different telecom service providers have made it a more convenient way to interact with people during the era of social distancing. Staying locked inside the four walls can be frustrating. But with improved broadband services, people of rural localities are now finding new ways to stay entertained and connected.
